Maintaining good oral hygiene and attending regular dental check-ups is important for monitoring your dental implant and overall oral health.

A missing tooth may affect surrounding teeth, bite alignment, and oral function. A dental practitioner can assess your condition and discuss whether a single dental implant may be a suitable option.

Single dental implant treatment is available across our locations in the Gold Coast, Brisbane (West End), Melbourne (Brighton) and Pottsville.

Single Dental Implant Treatment Process

A single dental implant may be used to replace a missing tooth. The implant is typically placed into the jawbone at the site of the missing tooth. Over time, the implant may integrate with the surrounding bone. An abutment and crown are then used to restore the tooth.

Step 1: Initial Consultation – 15 mins

During this appointment, a dental practitioner will discuss your treatment goals and explain the dental implant process, including potential costs and timeframes. Any existing records such as X-rays may be reviewed.

Step 2: Records Appointment – 30 mins: $259

If suitable, further records may be taken to assist with treatment planning. This may include 3D imaging, photographs, and digital scans.

Typical health fund codes may apply: 026, 089, 071 x 2, 072, 073

Step 3: Treatment Planning Consultation – 15–30 mins

A personalised treatment plan will be discussed, including available options, estimated costs, and timeframes.

Step 4: Implant Placement – 30–90 mins

The implant placement procedure duration varies depending on individual circumstances.

Step 5: Implant Restoration – 2 visits

The final restoration is typically completed after a healing period. A dental practitioner will advise on timing based on your treatment.

Case Study

A patient presented with a compromised tooth that was no longer suitable for restoration. Following assessment, a treatment plan was developed to replace the tooth.

Step 1

An implant was placed into the jaw. In some cases, a temporary restoration may be used.

Step 2

After a healing period, the implant may be assessed to confirm integration. Impressions or digital scans may be taken.

Step 3

A final restoration, such as a crown, may be placed once the implant site is ready.

Step 2
After approximately 3 months the temporary tooth or healing abutment is removed and the implant is tested to confirm its integration. An impression is then taken or a digital scan may be taken to allow a new porcelain crown to be made

Step 3
Approximately 2 weeks after the procedure, the final porcelain crown is inserted
