This means that we can now offer ALLdental treatments to patients who:
- Have not been in contact with a suspected/confirmed case of COVID-19
- Have not tested positive for COVID-19
- Are not feeling unwell or showing respiratory symptoms
We will still continue to screen patients prior to their appointments, be practicing social distancing, conducting temperature checks and requiring hand sanitisation on arrival, and continuing environmental measures/modifications to our waiting rooms.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are you staying open?
Due to the Level 3 Government and Australian Dental Association (ADA) restrictions that are currently in place, we can only treat toothaches and dental emergencies for the foreseeable future. As a result, we have decided to temporarily close our Chirn Park and Palm Beach dental practices while seeing emergencies at our Broadbeach dental practice only.
What issues can you treat?
Essentially, we can only treat issues that are causing pain or are likely to cause pain in the near future, such as:
- Swelling of the face or neck
- Trauma
- Significant bleeding
- Dental pain causing loss of sleep
- Ulcers which persist for more than 3 weeks
Anything else such as chipped or broken teeth, crowns, orthodontics, fillings and check-ups & cleans will need to be deferred to a later date.
Medically compromised or high risk patients may still require more routine care. If unsure, please contact our reception team.
What if I have a toothache?
We will be triaging those who are in pain over the phone – both existing and new patients. We will also be asking COVID-19 screening questions to confirm you haven’t been overseas in the past 2 weeks, and haven’t been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19/tested and awaiting results.
Extractions, medication, temporary fillings, partial root canal treatments and smoothing rough edges are possible treatment options that may be allowed.
Why can’t I have my routine work done?
For our safety and yours. Dental staff are at a much higher risk of contracting Coronavirus due to working in the mouth with air and water spray which creates aerosols. Furthermore, by limiting dental procedures, it will reduce the number of people entering the practice daily, in alignment with the nation-wide social distancing strategy.
What about my filling/clean/crown etc that was already booked?
We will have to defer all routine treatment until government restrictions are lifted. A staff member will be in touch to reappoint you as soon as we resume normal operations.
How will I know if my dental problem is okay to leave?
If it is not currently causing pain or discomfort it is likely that that issue will be okay for the short term. If unsure, please contact our reception team.
What happens if my dental issue gets worse?
Should your problem develop into a severe toothache or swelling, please call us so we can provide emergency care on 07 5526 8722.
